Beulaville man wins $100,000 on $30 scratch-off

A Beulaville man is celebrating a major lottery win after turning a $30 scratch-off ticket into a $100,000 prize.

Loyd Hall said he initially struggled to believe the result, double-checking the ticket several times before sharing the news with his family.

“I told my son and he thought I was joking,” Hall laughed. “My daughter is the only one who believed me.”

He purchased the winning $100,000 Cash Payday ticket from J&N Grocery in Richlands.

Hall claimed the prize at state lottery headquarters and received $72,018 after taxes. He said the money will go toward bills and home improvement projects.
